Its probably just me, but I miss "8x" and aside from normalising 1000% type statements which actually demand you do arithmetic to work out how many times bigger it is, the specious accuracy also annoys me.
Up with this, I will not put. End pointless percentage-isms now!
BYD are doing well. when their solid-state long duration fast recharge batteries hit, it may well be time to move ship from ICE, even if you have range anxiety. They're heading up, a long long way up from current WLTP levels. If you can get to your destination on one charge, and its above 500km, you should not try to worry you can't drive 600km without recharge because it's insane to drive that far without a break.
Sure, the Nullabor plain exists. I get it. There's a corner case guy just itching to tell me how they routinely do a 500mile commute, pissing into plastic jugs, to avoid stopping..
"The UK is particularly attractive to firms like BYD as the country has not imposed tariffs on Chinese EVs, unlike other major markets such as the European Union and the US."
"UK manager Bono Ge ... added that the brand's future in Britain looks "hugely exciting", having just opened its 100th retail outlet."
