I thought there were more discussions on this one, but I think it just came up in comments and that's what I'm remembering. Ones I found with more than a couple comments:

Ok, so FORTRAN got replaced by C/C++ and OS/370 by a hundred variants of Unix.
For those who tuned in late, Linux is a clone of Unix (TM).
There is a whole generation of delphi programmers out there...
