That's the really crazy part to me as well. Like clearly you can do so much more on the software side, and the whole hyperscaler built out was driven purely by financial shell game decisions rather than technological necessity.
To be fair, does the US have a lead over China on anything anymore? Certainly not manufacturing, renewable energy, AI, or technology...
